Clark Takes Responsibility for Crucial Mistakes in Fever’s Overtime Defeat to Aces

The three-time All-Star, who was named to the FIBA Women’s World Cup team hours before the game, pointed to eight turnovers and two missed free throws with seven seconds remaining in regulation as decisive factors in the loss.

Despite a solid offensive performance that included 20 points, eight assists and two go-ahead three-pointers in the final 4½ minutes of regulation, Clark finished 7 of 20 from the field and 2 of 10 on three-point attempts. She also committed four fouls while grabbing only three rebounds, shortcomings she refused to excuse after the game.

Jackie Young’s franchise-record 15 consecutive points to close the second quarter and open the third proved costly as the Fever squandered a 20-point first-half advantage.
