Sinkhole leaves tractor-trailer, sedan stuck in northwest Miami-Dade roadway

A large sinkhole at the intersection of Northwest 79th Street and 30th Avenue has swallowed part of the roadway, leaving a tractor-trailer and a white sedan stuck and forcing nearby roads to close Wednesday afternoon.County officials said crews with Miami-Dade Water and Sewer said a broken water main caused multiple potholes or small sinkholes to open in the road.Several roads leading to the intersection are closed due to the sinkholes.Video taken when crews first arrived shows a large tractor-trailer sunken into the roadway. A hole with water underneath the trailer can also be seen.Sky 10 video also shows the front tire of a white sedan sunken into the road near the tractor-trailer.Deputies are on scene managing traffic and detours. Drivers are being urged to avoid the area if possible.There was also a temporary disruption to Metrorail service between the Palmetto and Earlington Heights stations because of the incident. County officials said full service is now back on schedule.Water and sewer crews are still working on repairs, and the stretch of Northwest 79th Street remains closed.
