A deluge of precipitation swept across New Jersey, overwhelming drainage systems and transforming major thoroughfares into impassable waterways. The torrential downpour left numerous commuters unable to traverse flooded routes, forcing many to abandon their vehicles on affected roads.
While some motorists successfully navigated through the rising waters, others found themselves trapped as floodwaters continued to accumulate. Emergency responders worked to assist stranded drivers as conditions deteriorated throughout the affected regions.
The flooding underscored the vulnerability of transportation infrastructure to severe weather events, with many drivers unprepared for the rapid inundation of normally passable roads.
