A fatal collision involving a pickup truck occurred early Saturday morning at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Southwest 184th Street in southwest Miami-Dade County, according to emergency responders. One individual was pronounced dead at the scene, though authorities have not yet disclosed the victim’s name, age, or gender.
Responding units from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, Florida Highway Patrol, and Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office found the pickup truck severely damaged with its front end destroyed and debris scattered across the roadway. The vehicle ignited following the collision, and crews battled the resulting fire as part of their emergency response efforts.
Investigators established a roadway closure in the area as they conducted an ongoing investigation into the factors that caused the crash. A witness at an adjacent gas station reported hearing a loud sound followed by an explosion at the time of impact, though no additional details about the incident have been released.
