David Johnson, 58, of Ojai, entered a not guilty plea to six felony child molestation charges filed in Ventura County Superior Court. The allegations center on abuse of two children under age 14 that prosecutors say occurred across multiple years at locations in Ojai and Oxnard.

Johnson, who worked as both a pastor and massage therapist, allegedly gained access to the victims through family relationships. Four felony counts charge him with committing lewd acts upon a child, while two additional counts allege continuous sexual abuse. Prosecutors have also filed special allegations regarding the substantial nature of the sexual conduct and the victims’ ages.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office arrested Johnson on Monday shortly before 3 p.m., and he was booked into the Ventura County Main Jail that evening. He remains in custody without bail and is scheduled to appear in court Friday for a bail review hearing.

The Ventura County District Attorney’s Sexual Assault Unit, led by Deputy District Attorney Cesar Ponce, is prosecuting the case. Investigators believe additional victims may exist and are urging anyone with information to contact Detective Michael Loth at 805-384-4745.
