The Republican National Convention will transform into a showcase for President Donald Trump and his administration during a two-night gathering scheduled for Dallas next month. Trump is slated to deliver remarks on Thursday evening, while Vice President JD Vance will take the stage Wednesday night, ensuring the party’s top figures dominate the primetime schedule.
Republican National Committee leaders are framing the event as a platform to highlight Trump’s policy achievements, introduce competitive midterm candidates, and energize the party base ahead of the 2026 elections. The convention will emphasize the administration’s agenda while attempting to draw contrasts with Democratic opponents, whom Republicans plan to characterize as radical leftists.
Programming throughout both nights will focus on distinct policy areas, with Wednesday’s slate addressing tax cuts, healthcare affordability, border security, trade and manufacturing initiatives. Thursday’s schedule will feature testimonials from families benefiting from specific policies, including provisions on tip taxation and Social Security, alongside appearances from prisoners released overseas and a tribute to conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Additional segments will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks through remarks by first responder families and highlight healthcare reform initiatives aligned with the “Make America Healthy Again” movement. The convention will also promote congressional stock trading bans, a position Trump has publicly supported.
Candidate showcases are scheduled for 6 to 7 p.m. on each evening to introduce Republicans competing in closely contested races. RNC Chairman Joe Gruters stated the convention would present “the defining issues of our Party’s agenda and what is at stake in November.”
