Law enforcement officials in Connecticut have warned the public about an aggressive coyote that has targeted domestic dogs across the state. The animal has demonstrated a pattern of approaching canines ranging from small to large breeds in neighborhood settings and adjacent natural areas, according to authorities.
Beyond attacks on pets, the coyote has also ventured into residential neighborhoods and trail systems where it has made direct contact with people. Officials have intensified monitoring efforts and are urging residents to exercise heightened caution in affected areas.
Authorities continue to investigate the incidents and are coordinating response measures to address the threat posed by the animal. Residents have been advised to keep pets supervised, avoid leaving food sources outdoors, and report any sightings to local wildlife officials immediately.
