Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Brittany Payne, 38, on Sunday morning in connection with a stabbing incident that took place during a robbery in Deerfield Beach. The attack occurred at approximately 3:45 a.m. near the intersection of Northwest Third Avenue, commonly referred to as Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, and Fourth Court.
Payne was taken into custody at around 10 a.m. on Sunday and remained in custody without bond at the North Broward Bureau detention facility in Pompano Beach as of Monday afternoon. According to inmate records, she faces charges of attempted murder and armed robbery stemming from the incident.
Circuit Judge Francis Viamontes is scheduled to preside over the case, court records indicate. The investigation remains active and additional details may emerge as the case develops.
