Jed York, owner and chief executive of the San Francisco 49ers, was taken into custody Sunday in East Palestine, Ohio, on allegations involving prostitution and possession of criminal tools, according to Columbiana County court documents. The charges were subsequently reduced to misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools. York was held on a $5,000 bond and released the same day, the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.

The 46-year-old executive appeared before Columbiana County Municipal Court the following morning, where he entered a no-contest plea to both misdemeanor counts. The judge sentenced York to two days in custody, with credit for one day already served, and imposed $1,150 in fines.

The arrest took place at the Wheat Hill Mobile Home Community, a trailer park in the area. East Palestine police directed inquiries to the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, which has not provided additional comment on the matter.

York now faces potential discipline under the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy. The league and the 49ers organization have not issued statements regarding the case or confirmed whether they will launch their own investigation.
