The Israeli military launched airstrikes on Sunday targeting multiple locations throughout the Gaza Strip, striking a building in the central town of Zawayda and hitting the Nuseirat refugee camp also located in central Gaza, according to multiple international news reports.

In the southern region, military operations continued with an Israeli strike reported in the Khan Younis area on the same day. The Israeli military separately announced that Sharif Al-Hasnat, identified as a Hamas militant, was killed in a strike on Saturday in Deir Al-Balah.

The military is currently investigating a January 2024 incident in Gaza City that resulted in six deaths, including 5-year-old Hind Rajab and two paramedics, after Israeli forces opened fire in that location. The broader conflict between Israel and Hamas began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas militants killed approximately 1,200 people in southern Israel.
