Freedom attended the game wearing apparel that displayed the dictionary definition of “woman,” a reference to ongoing debates surrounding the WNBA’s eligibility criteria. The confrontation reflects Freedom’s broader campaign questioning the WNBA’s enforcement of gender eligibility rules outlined in Article XIII of the collective bargaining agreement.
