Jurors heard recorded statements Thursday in which Duane “Keffe D” Davis claimed to law enforcement that his nephew, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, pulled the trigger in the fatal 1996 shooting of rapper Tupac Shakur. The testimony came from a 2008 interview Davis gave to detectives investigating the decades-old case.
The case has remained one of hip-hop’s most prominent unsolved murders until recent legal developments brought new scrutiny to the decades-old incident. Davis’s statements to authorities provided prosecutors with a central narrative connecting Anderson to the fatal drive-by shooting in Las Vegas.
