A New Jersey woman has traveled across the country to search for her missing mother, a 63-year-old New York grandmother who disappeared while visiting Las Vegas nearly two weeks ago. Alisa Goods was last seen on August 8 and reported missing two days later, prompting an intensive search that has included hospitals and morgues as her family grows more concerned for her safety.
Goods had been staying with Roger John, a friend of approximately 20 years, at his Las Vegas residence. According to John’s account to local media, Goods left the apartment around 12:45 p.m. on August 8 to take a bus to a nearby CVS pharmacy for shopping and never returned home that evening.
Store surveillance footage later confirmed that Goods visited a retail location near Paradise and Flamingo roads, where she purchased supplements and water. However, her daughter Kristen Goods expressed frustration that Las Vegas’s extensive camera network has not yielded additional clues about her mother’s whereabouts or movements after the shopping trip.
Police have not classified John as a suspect and cleared him in connection with the case, according to authorities and the family. A police search expanded to a 20-mile radius from where Goods was last seen, while family members distributed flyers throughout the area in hopes of locating her.
Complicating the investigation, Goods’s family began receiving text messages from her phone requesting money and Bitcoin days after her disappearance. The family remains uncertain whether Goods retained possession of her phone or who may have sent the messages.
Kristen Goods emphasized that her mother’s recent leg surgeries severely limit her mobility, making it unlikely she could have traveled far on foot. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police confirmed Wednesday that the missing person case remains active with no suspicious findings to report.
