Country music star Ella Langley has solidified her status as a dominant force in the industry with a chart-breaking achievement. Billboard confirmed this week that her breakthrough single “Choosin’ Texas” has maintained the number one position on the Hot 100 for 18 consecutive weeks, marking a significant milestone in contemporary music history.
The 18-week reign represents the longest chart run at the summit for any female artist with a non-holiday track. Mariah Carey’s perennial holiday anthem “All I Want For Christmas Is You” remains the all-time leader with 22 weeks at number one, though Langley’s achievement places her in elite company among recording artists.
Langley’s success extends beyond the charts. She captured seven awards at the ACM Awards earlier this year, underscoring her rapid ascent in country music circles and establishing her as one of the genre’s most celebrated contemporary performers.
One additional week at the top position would tie Langley with Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” and Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus’s “Old Town Road” for the second-longest run overall. Music industry observers suggest the possibility of “Choosin’ Texas” claiming the number two spot in coming weeks.
Beyond her chart dominance, Langley has recently collaborated with artist Koe Wetzel on the viral single “Jaded,” demonstrating her continued momentum in music production and audience engagement.
