Law enforcement officials have taken a 25-year-old into custody following a deadly shooting incident that unfolded in the Broward County community of Hollywood early Sunday morning. Just before 2:20 a.m., gunfire erupted along the 2700 block of Arthur Street, prompting police to respond to calls reporting the incident. Officers arriving at the residential gathering discovered two individuals wounded in the shooting.

Emergency responders from Hollywood Fire Rescue transported both victims to Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment. One victim succumbed to injuries approximately one hour after arriving at the facility, while the other remained hospitalized undergoing care for wounds sustained in the gunfire. Investigators determined that Johntavis Leroy Stevenson, 25, was responsible for the shooting that occurred during a home gathering.

Stevenson now faces three serious felony charges: first-degree murder with a firearm, attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. As of Monday afternoon, he remained in custody at the Broward Main Jail with no bond allowed pending further proceedings.
