Enes Kanter Freedom seized on Angel Reese’s missed layup in the final seconds of Atlanta’s 95-91 overtime loss to Indiana on Sunday, turning the moment into criticism of both the Dream forward and veteran NBA player Paul George. Reese’s failure to convert a point-blank putback attempt with regulation play on the line gave Freedom material for a social media post that referenced his stated intention to enter the 2027 WNBA Draft.

Through a post on X, Freedom compared Reese unfavorably to George, suggesting she embrace alternative ventures like podcasting. Reese finished the game with 15 points, 14 rebounds and six assists, but her crucial miss in the game’s final moments dominated the postgame narrative. The comment about podcasting served as a direct reference to George’s “Podcast P,” which debuted in 2023.

The 11-year NBA veteran has spent recent weeks publicly challenging the WNBA’s trans eligibility policies and threatening to declare for the 2027 draft himself. During an interview with former Auburn coach Bruce Pearl, Kanter stated that league rules would permit him to participate if he identified as a woman upon stepping onto the court. Former NBA forward Royce White has lent support to Kanter’s campaign.

Kanter has suggested he could eventually join forces with Caitlin Clark, whose Fever team defeated Atlanta in the overtime contest. He characterized such a partnership as comparable to the dynamic between Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal during their championship years together.
