Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s roster showcases emerging talent working alongside seasoned performers, with Thursday night “Impact” programming featuring wrestlers destined for mainstream recognition. During a recent conversation with Fox News Digital, Matt Hardy—currently holding the TNA World Tag Team Championship—spotlighted several rising competitors worth monitoring as the organization prepares for its Lockdown pay-per-view event.
Hardy praised Mustafa Ali as a performer experiencing his career peak, while emphasizing Jason Hotch’s explosive potential within the promotion. Hotch recently captured the TNA International Championship from Ali in a competitive “Impact” encounter, with a rematch scheduled for Lockdown on August 23. According to Hardy, Hotch represents the next generation of major TNA attractions.
The veteran wrestler also highlighted 21-year-old Leon Slater, who trained under both Hardy and Jeff Hardy, commending his exceptional awareness and technical knowledge for his age. Slater held the TNA X Division Championship for nearly 300 days before losing it to Cedric Alexander, who will defend the title at Lockdown. Should Slater fall short, his extended reign will be removed from TNA’s historical record.
Ricky Sosa, who joined TNA this year following viral recognition for his independent wrestling entrance, rounded out Hardy’s list of ascending talents. Hardy expressed confidence that all three wrestlers—Hotch, Slater, and Sosa—will achieve major stardom. Hardy and his brother Jeff will defend their tag team title against Nic and Ryan Nemeth at Lockdown, held at Chicago’s Credit Union 1 Arena with all matches taking place inside steel cages.
