Mark Lynch has thrown his support behind Rep. Ralph Norman, the second-place finisher in South Carolina’s special Republican U.S. Senate primary, as Norman prepares for an August 25 runoff against primary winner Sen. Darline Graham. Graham secured the top spot in the August 11 primary, while Norman advanced to the second position. Lynch previously finished fifth in the special primary contest after placing second in the regular GOP Senate primary won by Sen. Lindsey Graham in June.
Norman celebrated Lynch’s endorsement on Wednesday via social media, stating he was honored to receive the backing. A statement attributed to Lynch emphasized that the country requires leadership focused on America First principles, praising Norman as a businessman with a strong conservative track record suited to represent South Carolina in Washington.
Gov. Henry McMaster appointed Darline Graham, sister of the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, to complete her brother’s Senate term last month. President Donald Trump has announced his backing for her election bid. National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman Sen. Tim Scott endorsed Graham on Wednesday, citing her first-place primary finish and her performance as a senator and campaigner.
Scott highlighted Graham’s commitment to conservative values and economic issues affecting South Carolina families, pledging his vote in the runoff and urging state Republicans to support her candidacy as well.
