Law enforcement arrested an adult male suspect Sunday at the Hidden Hills residence of reality television personality Kim Kardashian following reports of a break-in and stolen vehicle. Deputies from the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station responded to a residential burglary call at the 24800 block of Long Valley Road before 4 p.m., where they apprehended the suspect at the scene.
The arrested individual, identified as Trey Mendel, was observed placing multiple items into a vehicle on the property, according to the Los Angeles Times. Authorities charged Mendel with burglary and vehicle theft without owner consent and transported him to the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station for booking, where he remains in custody pending further proceedings.
Kardashian, 45, and her four children are not currently residing at the mansion, which is undergoing renovation, officials confirmed. The stolen vehicle did not belong to the Skims founder, authorities stated, and investigators indicated the case would be forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for charging decisions.
The sheriff’s department has requested assistance from the public and urged anyone with relevant information to contact the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station Detective Bureau. Representatives for Kardashian did not provide an immediate statement regarding the incident.
