A construction worker was killed and two others suffered injuries Tuesday afternoon when a vehicle lost control and struck their group in Nesconset. Emergency personnel responded to the incident and provided immediate care to multiple victims at the scene.
The driver was detained by law enforcement officers and taken into custody following the collision. Authorities are investigating the circumstances that caused the vehicle to veer out of control and strike the workers.
The two injured construction workers received medical treatment for injuries sustained in the crash. Names of those involved have not been disclosed pending notification of family members.
