A violent altercation in Midtown Manhattan left a man with multiple stab and slash wounds on Wednesday afternoon, according to law enforcement officials. The incident unfolded shortly after 2:30 p.m. on 42nd Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues during what authorities described as an argument between the parties involved.
The victim sustained two puncture wounds to his back and lacerations across other areas of his body from the blade used in the assault. Police have not yet disclosed the nature of the dispute that preceded the attack or identified any suspects in the case.
Investigators are continuing their work to gather additional details about the circumstances surrounding the midday assault. The New York Police Department has encouraged anyone with information about the incident to contact authorities.
