Fort Lauderdale authorities have made an arrest in a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 32-year-old resident in the city’s Lauderdale Manors neighborhood. Candacia Walker, 33, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the July 8 incident.
The victim, Mike Menard, was discovered shot inside his vehicle in the 1300 block of Northwest 13th Court during the early morning hours of July 8. Police announced Walker’s arrest on Friday, noting that she was booked into the Broward Main Jail on Thursday and held without bond pending further proceedings.
Authorities have not disclosed details regarding a possible motive or the specific circumstances that led investigators to identify Walker as a suspect. The police department has not released additional information about the case, and an arrest report has been requested for further clarification.
