Twin Falls Police Department released surveillance footage Friday documenting the deadly shooting that occurred at an Idaho In-N-Out Burger location the previous Saturday. The video depicts the gunman, 24-year-old Chad Williams, approaching the drive-thru window on four separate occasions and discharging his weapon at patrons and staff members.
The attack claimed three lives and left seven additional people injured. Police officials said at a Friday news conference that investigators have not determined a motive for the violence. Williams died by suicide following the rampage.
Among those killed were Ashley Garibay, 23, of Stockton, California, who worked at the restaurant; Dale Schultz, 66, of Salt Lake City; and Christopher Claunch, 59, of Hagerman, Idaho. Two of the victims were fatally shot outside the establishment and in an adjacent parking lot.
Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks characterized the incident as a watershed moment for the community. “What happened here was violent, frightening and deeply traumatic,” Hicks said at the briefing. The In-N-Out location had begun operations in July as the chain expanded its presence into Idaho.
