Electronic Arts announced the completion of its $55 billion transaction on Tuesday, marking the conclusion of negotiations that will take the video game publisher into private ownership. The deal brings together Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, the investment firm Silver Lake Partners, and Affinity Partners, the latter of which is controlled by Jared Kushner, son-in-law to U.S. President Donald Trump.
The transaction represents one of the largest leveraged buyouts in recent years, fundamentally reshaping the ownership structure of one of the world’s most prominent gaming companies. The consortium’s acquisition signals major investment from international and domestic capital sources into the interactive entertainment sector.
