Professional wrestler Brie Bella sustained an apparent shoulder injury during a six-woman tag team match at WWE SummerSlam on Saturday evening. The incident occurred when opponent Jacy Jayne executed a running senton against Bella, who was positioned near the steel steps, prompting her to grip her right shoulder for the remainder of the contest alongside her sister Nikki Bella and Paige.

Following the match’s conclusion, Nikki Bella provided an update during an appearance on Busted Open Radio on Sunday, stating that her sister is experiencing considerable discomfort. “She’s doing OK. She is in a lot of pain,” Nikki Bella said, adding that medical personnel were still evaluating the extent of the injury and that she had been instructed not to disclose further details at that time.

WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque informed reporters after the first night of the event that the injury appeared severe. He disclosed that Bella had received treatment on-site before being transported to a hospital for diagnostic imaging, though a definitive assessment remained pending at that time.

The match resulted in a victory for Jayne’s team, with Jayne pinning Paige for the win. The outcome raises questions about Bella’s availability for upcoming events, particularly given her recent return to the promotion at the Royal Rumble in January.
