Israeli striker Dor Turgeman of the New England Revolution found the back of the net during Saturday’s road matchup against CF Montreal, moments after social media reports indicated some home supporters had allegedly directed offensive chants toward him. The 22-year-old, who hails from Ashdod, Israel, responded to the hostile environment by netting a goal in the 36th minute that extended New England’s advantage to 2-0.

Following his goal, Turgeman celebrated in front of the Montreal supporter section with his hand cupped to his ear, prompting an aggressive response from CF Montreal goalkeeper Sebastian Breza. Breza shoved the forward to the ground, triggering a confrontation among multiple players on the pitch. The goalkeeper received a yellow card for the physical contact, while witnesses at the stadium reported that beer bottles were thrown at Turgeman during the incident.

CF Montreal issued a statement Sunday acknowledging the allegations and reaffirming its stance against discrimination. “The Club does not tolerate discrimination, or hateful behavior of any kind,” the organization said, noting it was working with MLS and New England to investigate. The match ultimately finished in a 2-2 draw, and MLS had not released a public statement regarding the incident as of publication.

Turgeman, 22, joined the Revolution in 2025 after his youth career in Israel. He has earned nine senior caps for the Israeli national team, recording two goals in 2025 appearances.
