Professional wrestling veterans Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley stepped into an All Elite Wrestling ring for the first time this week during an episode of “Collision” held in Detroit, their hometown. The duo, performing under the moniker Motor City Machine Guns, wasted little time making their presence felt to the AEW tag team roster.
Following a competitive eight-man tag team match where the Bang Bang Gang—comprising Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn, Ace Austin and Juice Robinson—defeated Jon Moxley, Pac, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta, ringside action escalated when Clark Connors and David Finlay launched an assault. Sabin and Shelley rushed to the ring to intervene, ultimately standing alongside the victorious Bang Bang Gang.
Sabin addressed the crowd immediately upon arrival, declaring there was no better place for the team than AEW and emphasizing their two-decade connection to Detroit. The Motor City Machine Guns represent one of professional wrestling’s most accomplished tag teams, having captured championships across WWE, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
The two wrestlers concluded their nearly two-year tenure with WWE in April before joining AEW’s roster. Their recruitment significantly strengthens the company’s tag team division with proven talent and international credentials.
