The Broward Sheriff’s Office released additional information Friday regarding a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred two days earlier in Oakland Park. Emergency responders arrived at the intersection of Northwest 44th Street and Northwest 31st Avenue around 6:35 p.m. Wednesday after dispatch received reports of the crash.
Milton Perez, 51, was operating a 2012 BMW 640i traveling south on Northwest 31st Avenue as he approached Northwest 44th Street, according to investigators with the sheriff’s office. A woman whose name has not been disclosed was attempting a left turn onto Northwest 44th Street when the BMW collided with her 2014 Honda Civic.
The force of impact sent the Civic spinning counterclockwise, and the female driver was ejected from the passenger-side window during the rotation. She came to rest beside the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by Oakland Park Fire Rescue paramedics. Perez sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and received treatment at a nearby hospital.
Detectives have not yet determined liability in the crash. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
