Authorities detained a man Friday morning in connection with a shooting incident that occurred at the Palm Gardens shopping center in Wilton Manors, located at the intersection of North Andrews Avenue and Northeast 26th Drive. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene following reports of gunfire at the shopping complex.
Witnesses reported that a woman sustained injuries during the incident, with one observer telling Local 10 News that the victim was shot in the leg. Blood and torn pieces of clothing were visible at the location where the shooting took place, according to accounts from people at the scene.
A man was apprehended and placed into a patrol vehicle by law enforcement officials who arrived at the shopping center. Police had not officially confirmed specific details about the victim’s injuries at the time of initial reporting, pending further investigation and official statements.
