Amanda Batula has provided fresh insight into the intimacy struggles that contributed to the dissolution of her marriage to Kyle Cooke, disclosing that the couple’s sexual connection had largely ceased years before their formal separation announcement. Following months of speculation about the state of their relationship, Batula and Cooke addressed the topic publicly during the “Summer House” reunion in June, later expanding on their challenges during the “In the City” reunion on Tuesday.
Batula indicated that concerns about emotional closeness existed even before the couple’s 2021 wedding, noting that sex had been a subject of discussion during pre-marital couples therapy. She attributed some of the physical distance in their relationship to her own struggle with depression, while also describing a pattern of disconnection in their daily interactions.
During the reunion, Batula recounted feeling objectified rather than cherished, explaining that Cooke would return from work only to immediately attempt sexual contact without establishing emotional connection or spending quality time together. She emphasized the absence of dating, conversation, and foreplay in their relationship dynamic.
Cooke acknowledged during the taping that his intensive focus on building their financial future through his business venture Loverboy and subsequent DJ work had come at the expense of their marriage. He conceded that he had orchestrated every outing and vacation, positioning these efforts as investments for their future family security rather than demonstrations of present romantic commitment.
Batula countered that Cooke’s explanation validated her central complaint: that she had been consistently deprioritized in favor of professional ambitions. She stated that his suggestion she read a book about dating an entrepreneur, rather than his personal investment in their relationship, only reinforced how his career focus had damaged their intimate bond.
The couple announced their separation in January after roughly four years together. Batula and Cooke had initially met while filming “Summer House” in 2015. By March, Batula confirmed she was dating fellow cast member West Wilson.
