Law enforcement officials in Seattle revealed Tuesday that the teenager taken into custody after a weekend shooting incident at a food festival near the Space Needle was carrying an untraceable firearm equipped with a high-capacity magazine. The 15-year-old suspect’s weapon, commonly referred to as a ghost gun, had no serial number and cannot be easily tracked through conventional law enforcement databases.
The shooting erupted during the festival gathering over the weekend near one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. Police did not release additional details about the circumstances surrounding the incident or the extent of any injuries sustained during the altercation.
The case highlights continued concerns among law enforcement officials regarding the proliferation of unserialized firearms, which are increasingly accessible and difficult to trace in criminal investigations across the nation.
