Atmospheric conditions across South Florida will turn volatile through the afternoon as excessive moisture combines with temperatures in the 90s to spark another round of thunderstorms. The system could produce severe weather including damaging wind gusts, frequent lightning strikes and torrential rainfall before diminishing this evening.
The threat of daily convection will persist throughout the week, though intensity levels should decline as marginally drier air begins to move into the region. Sunny periods will become more frequent as rain chances decrease, though isolated showers and storms remain possible on most days.
Temperatures will climb above historical averages, hovering in the middle 90s as the drier air mass arrives. Residents should expect a pattern shift toward more typical summer conditions with increased sunshine but continued heat stress into the weekend.
