Mia Bieniemy, 57, sustained serious injuries after a shooting at the couple’s Virginia residence Sunday evening, according to ESPN reporting. The incident led to her hospitalization Monday, with Loudoun County police confirming that a person was being treated for serious injuries, though authorities did not initially release the victim’s name.
The Kansas City Chiefs acknowledged the situation in a brief statement, saying the organization is aware of the matter involving the family and requested privacy during this time. “Our thoughts and prayers are with them,” the team said, declining to provide additional details.
At the time of the shooting, Bieniemy was attending the Chiefs’ training camp in St. Joseph, Missouri. The offensive coordinator is in his second tenure with Kansas City, having previously held the position from 2018 through 2022 before spending last season as the Chicago Bears’ running backs coach.
