Stepmother of Missing Woman’s Husband Says He ‘Lied About Everything,’ Offers to Aid Investigators

Donna Hooker, stepmother of Brian Hooker, has expressed strong doubts about her stepson’s account of events surrounding his wife’s disappearance and indicated her willingness to cooperate with investigators. During a podcast appearance on “Surviving the Survivor,” she stated she believes Brian has been dishonest about the circumstances. Lynette Hooker, 55, vanished from the Bahamas on April 4 while on a sailing trip aboard the couple’s boat, “Soulmate,” with Brian reporting that she fell from a dinghy.

Donna Hooker told The Tribune newspaper in Nassau that investigators from both the Bahamas and the United States have not contacted her despite her decades of knowing her stepson. She emphasized her readiness to provide information that could potentially aid the ongoing investigation. Bahamian authorities initially detained Brian for questioning but later released him, allowing him to return to the United States in mid-April.

Brian’s stepmother lived with him during his teenage years in the 1980s and described him as intelligent but withdrawn, spending considerable time isolated in his room. She noted that contact with him became increasingly difficult over the years, with the family attempting to reach him through his sister Jennifer, who lives in California. Donna last saw Brian in April 2022 when he visited his father George following a stroke.

Donna learned of Lynette’s disappearance through a family member in Texas and subsequently tried reaching Jennifer multiple times without response. She stated that Jennifer had reportedly traveled to the Bahamas following Brian’s initial release from custody. The investigation remains active and ongoing, with the Coast Guard Investigative Service conducting the inquiry.

Brian Hooker has not been charged with any crime or accused of wrongdoing. His attorney previously stated that Hooker has maintained contact with investigators. Fox News Digital reached out to his legal representative for additional comment.
