Tennessee Congressman Claims Pentagon Obstruction of UFO Disclosure Efforts

Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., revealed details about his efforts to force transparency on unidentified flying objects, contending that career government officials are resisting congressional and public pressure for full disclosure. During an appearance on the “Planet Tyrus” podcast, Burchett outlined his ongoing campaign for UFO transparency and expressed concern that Washington’s secrecy apparatus erodes confidence in government institutions.

Burchett described a recent Pentagon meeting that lasted more than two hours, though he declined to identify attendees or discuss specifics. “The disclosure is real. And the problem we’re having right now is the deep state is blocking a lot of this,” he stated, characterizing unelected defense bureaucrats as the primary obstacle to congressional oversight of classified materials and information.

The Tennessee lawmaker criticized what he characterized as presidential exclusion from sensitive UFO discussions. “I’m in a security hearing, and a little punk with a man bun tells me that the president’s on a need-to-know basis,” Burchett said, suggesting that institutional power, control, and corruption dominate decision-making in Washington.

Burchett alleged that military personnel who witnessed unidentified objects have been discouraged from reporting encounters through systematic retaliation. Those who filed reports underwent eight-hour debriefings, psychological evaluations, and faced potential removal from flight duties, he said, characterizing the practice as both a cover-up and an unjustified suppression of citizen access to information.

The Trump administration released its fourth batch of declassified unidentified anomalous phenomena records this month, which included military infrared footage and details about a 2015 incident near a major U.S. nuclear weapons facility. President Trump directed federal agencies in February to begin identifying and releasing government files related to extraterrestrial life and UFOs, announcing the initiative on his Truth Social platform.
