Set Decorator from ‘Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ Found Slain in Queens Home; Husband Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide

A 34-year-old set decorator who worked on the Amazon series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” was discovered murdered inside her Queens, New York residence early Tuesday morning, with her husband subsequently found dead in what authorities believe was a murder-suicide. The New York Police Department confirmed to Fox News Digital that Mary Golding suffered a stab wound to her back and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after midnight.

Golding’s professional credits extended across multiple television productions, including “Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer,” “Goosebumps,” “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” and “Hawkeye,” according to IMDb records. She graduated from New York University, as indicated by her social media profiles.

After discovering Golding’s body inside the home, investigators located her husband, Joseph Azzaretto, 33, hanging from a tree in Astoria Park nearby. According to the New York Post, Azzaretto confessed to killing his wife during phone calls he made to one of her friends and a family member, both of whom alerted authorities.

The unnamed friend who discovered Golding’s body found the couple’s infant child unharmed inside the residence. The discovery marked a tragic chapter for a family already marked by violence, as Azzaretto’s brother Nicholas was convicted in a prior fatal incident involving their father.

In February 2020, Nicholas Azzaretto shot their father, Frank Azzaretto, 66, in the chest during a domestic dispute at the family home in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, with the man’s wife present at the time. Nicholas Azzaretto pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in November 2021 and received 10 years of probation plus two years of electronic monitoring.
