Cameron Rose Newell, a standout performer in her third NFL season, received a surprise proposal Wednesday from Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers. The engagement marks a major milestone for the couple as Newell prepares for the upcoming regular season with her new fiancée status.
Newell announced the engagement Thursday via Instagram, sharing video footage of the surprise moment. Her caption read, “The best surprise of my life, right where it all started. Can’t wait to spend forever with you.” The couple has maintained their relationship since their high school years, navigating separate college careers before entering professional football together.
Both players were selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, with Newell’s selection drawing significant attention. Bowers attended the University of Georgia while Newell played college ball at the University of Tennessee, according to People magazine.
Bowers has faced considerable challenges in his first two seasons with the Raiders, who have finished last in the AFC West both years. A knee injury sidelined him late last season, forcing him onto the injured reserve list before the campaign concluded.
The tight end has participated fully in the Raiders’ offseason conditioning program as the franchise aims for improvement after recording just three wins during the 2025 season. The couple’s engagement comes as Las Vegas seeks to turn around its struggling roster.
