Inter Miami CF announced Wednesday the acquisition of Brazilian midfielder Carlos Henrique Casemiro, bringing a decorated international performer into the franchise’s expanding roster. The 34-year-old veteran will play for the club through the 2027 MLS season, with contractual provisions allowing extension through June 2029, pending approval of his P-1 Visa.
Casemiro arrives at Inter Miami after an illustrious career spanning elite European clubs. His résumé includes five UEFA Champions League titles and three LaLiga championships earned during his tenure at Real Madrid, followed by three seasons with Manchester United in the Premier League.
Club ownership embraced the signing as a significant strategic move. Co-owner David Beckham expressed enthusiasm for welcoming the midfielder and his family, citing admiration for Casemiro’s sustained excellence across top professional leagues.
“I’m motivated by winning and continuing to grow,” Casemiro stated in the team’s official announcement. “I can’t wait to get started and give everything I have to repay the trust the club has shown me.”
The acquisition has drawn regulatory scrutiny from MLS authorities. According to sports journalist Tom Bogert, the league launched an investigation into potential tampering violations stemming from the signing process, with the Los Angeles Galaxy reportedly holding discovery rights over the player.
