Vance, Elon Musk, and FBI Director Kash Patel. Shirley emphasized his reliance on primary sources and publicly available government information when developing major investigations, prioritizing direct access to documentation over secondary reporting.

Addressing criticism of his work, Shirley pointed to the recent guilty plea from Fahima Egeh Mahamud, connected to the Minnesota daycare fraud scheme, as vindication of his investigative findings. “Numbers don’t lie, and convictions don’t lie either,” Shirley stated, referencing the guilty plea from the operator of Minnesota’s largest government-funded daycare facility.
