Joey Logano ended a frustrating 45-race winless streak Sunday night at North Wilkesboro Speedway, delivering a dominant performance that extended his record of winning at least once in each season to 15 consecutive years. The Team Penske driver’s victory marks the longest active streak among NASCAR Cup Series competitors and brings him within five wins of the late Kyle Busch’s all-time record of 19 consecutive winning seasons.

Logano’s triumph came after a difficult 2026 campaign in which he went 20 races without capturing a checkered flag, leaving him languishing outside the playoff cutline at 17th in points. Self-doubt had begun to surface as the championship hopeful questioned whether he would secure a victory before the 16-driver Chase for the Championship field was finalized.

On the 0.625-mile track that Logano considers his best, the Ford driver was nearly untouchable. He led 323 of 450 laps and won every restart, pulling away by margins exceeding five seconds at times and demonstrating complete command of the field. Runner-up finisher Denny Hamlin, who holds the Cup Series points lead, acknowledged the performance’s significance and could only offer congratulations.

Logano credited his team’s refusal to panic during the extended slump and their dedication to solving recurring speed issues.
