The Miami Dolphins have locked in linebacker Jordyn Brooks to a three-year contract extension, solidifying the veteran’s status as a foundational player during the franchise’s organizational overhaul. The deal carries a value of $51.3 million with $35 million in guaranteed money, according to reporting by ESPN and confirmed to The Associated Press by a source granted anonymity ahead of an official team announcement.
Brooks earned All-Pro honors for the first time last season after recording 183 tackles, the most in the NFL, along with 99 solo tackles. His standout performance provided one of the few bright spots during a tumultuous campaign that resulted in the departures of general manager Chris Grier and coach Mike McDaniel.
A first-round selection by the Seattle Seahawks in 2020, Brooks joined Miami as a free agent ahead of the 2024 season and has developed into a locker room leader. Over his two seasons with the Dolphins, he has accumulated 326 tackles and 6 1/2 sacks.
The extension represents part of a broader effort by new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan to retain key contributors. The Dolphins have also extended running back De’Von Achane with a four-year, $64 million deal in March and signed center Aaron Brewer to a three-year agreement worth $52.5 million in June.
