Rescue workers in Big Bear recovered an injured bald eagle following a violent encounter with two other eagles, with wildlife officials indicating the bird is likely Jackie, the female portion of a celebrated local eagle couple. The eagle was transported to a rehabilitation facility after the altercation was reported in the area.
Jackie and her mate have become recognizable fixtures in the Big Bear community, with residents closely tracking their nesting and breeding activity over multiple seasons. The couple has been central to conservation efforts and public interest in bald eagle recovery throughout the region.
Wildlife authorities are monitoring the bird’s condition as it undergoes treatment for injuries sustained in the three-eagle conflict. Veterinarians continue evaluating whether the eagle will be able to return to the wild once fully healed.
