Work crews labored through Friday night and into Saturday morning to remediate a major water main rupture in the West Hollywood area. The pipe, which had served the region for over 100 years, required complete removal and replacement with new steel piping to restore service.
Sunset Boulevard remains closed to vehicle traffic near the rupture site, with no timeline yet announced for reopening the impacted roadway. City officials continue to assess conditions as restoration efforts move forward.
The extensive repair job reflects the challenges posed by aging infrastructure and the significant labor required to install modern replacement piping. Repair crews reported substantial progress on the project by Saturday morning.
