Philadelphia Eagles Running Back Saquon Barkley’s Home Targeted in Early Morning Burglary

Tredyffrin Township police responded to a burglary at running back Saquon Barkley’s residence in the Malvern area of Pennsylvania at approximately 5:10 a.m. Saturday morning. Officers arrived after receiving a report of an active break-in, but the perpetrators had already fled the scene, according to police records obtained by Fox News Digital.

Barkley, his family members, and anyone else present at the home were unharmed during the incident. Police did not confirm whether the 29-year-old athlete or his relatives were inside the residence when the burglary occurred.

Detectives are actively investigating a large white SUV believed connected to the crime and have released an image of the vehicle in hopes of identifying it. Law enforcement has not disclosed details about the stolen items, how intruders gained entry, the number of suspects involved, or whether any arrests have been made.

The Tredyffrin Township Police Department indicated it had not documented comparable criminal activity elsewhere in the region. The Chester County District Attorney’s Office is providing assistance with the ongoing investigation.

The burglary reflects an escalating pattern of crimes targeting professional athletes nationwide. Federal prosecutors charged seven Chilean nationals in February 2025 with orchestrating a series of residential break-ins at homes of NFL and NBA players, with authorities alleging the group stole more than $2 million in cash, jewelry, watches, and valuables while the athletes were away or competing in games.

Barkley is preparing for his third season with the Philadelphia Eagles after signing a two-year contract extension in March 2025 that keeps him under team control through 2028. He accumulated 1,140 rushing yards during the 2025 season, marking his second consecutive 1,000-yard campaign with Philadelphia.

The 29-year-old delivered a historic 2024 season, capturing the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award and leading the Eagles to victory in Super Bowl LIX. Barkley established an NFL record with 2,504 rushing yards across the regular season and playoffs combined, and Eagles training camp is scheduled to begin July 28.
