New York Giants leadership expressed optimism Wednesday after wide receiver Malik Nabers completed a full practice session during the team’s training camp opener at The Greenbrier in West Virginia. Head coach John Harbaugh said Nabers “looked good” on the field, marking a significant milestone in his recovery from a serious knee injury suffered in Week 4 of the previous season.

Nabers sustained an ACL tear and complete meniscus tear while attempting to catch a pass during quarterback Jaxson Dart’s inaugural start at MetLife Stadium. The injury required two surgical procedures: initial surgery after the swelling subsided, followed by scar tissue removal and stiffness treatment during the offseason.

General manager Joe Schoen indicated the organization has developed a careful plan for Nabers’ gradual return to competition. “We’ve got a really good plan for him,” Schoen said, emphasizing the medical staff’s involvement and commitment to monitoring his physical response throughout training camp and beyond.

Nabers was not placed on the physically unable to perform list at the start of camp, signaling the team’s confidence in his progression. Harbaugh noted that Nabers remains in an ongoing recovery process with no definitive timeline announced for his return to game action.

Dart expressed enthusiasm about reconnecting with his top receiver, calling Nabers’ presence on the field “exhilarating” and noting his commitment to his rehabilitation efforts. The quarterback remained optimistic about Nabers’ trajectory while acknowledging he would be eased into action gradually.
