Moms for Liberty Co-Founder Demands Accountability From Fauci After Fifth Amendment Invocation

Tina Descovich, CEO and co-founder of Moms for Liberty, called for a national apology Wednesday after Dr. Anthony Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment more than 100 times during a Senate hearing. Descovich told Fox News Digital that millions of American parents remain without answers regarding pandemic-era school closures, masking mandates, and vaccine requirements that she contends inflicted lasting damage on children’s educational and mental health.

Descovich cited the extended closures of schools in California, Chicago, and other regions that lasted up to two years, arguing children continue suffering consequences including learning loss and psychological harm. She called on Congress to pursue a full investigation into the decision-making process behind prolonged school shutdowns and to identify which officials bear responsibility for those actions.

The former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director appeared before the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee on Wednesday under questioning from Republican lawmakers. Sen. Rand Paul, who chairs the committee, announced plans to pursue civil contempt proceedings against Fauci following the Fifth Amendment invocations.

Paul released Fauci’s COVID-era diary on Tuesday, which Paul contends reveals previously undisclosed details about Fauci’s views on the pandemic’s origins and his management decisions. The documents, according to Paul, contradict the official narrative promoted by Fauci and other public health officials during the pandemic response.

Descovich said she would ask Fauci directly why he implemented policies affecting children and families, and how he plans to face accountability. She expressed hope that reforms will prevent similar government overreach during future public health emergencies and protect parental rights to direct their children’s upbringing.
