Disneyland Resort guests encountered significant disruptions Tuesday evening when a water pressure failure across Anaheim, California, necessitated the temporary closure of bathrooms and food service locations throughout the park. The outage began around 6 p.m. PDT and extended beyond the theme park, affecting Angel Stadium and numerous surrounding businesses in the area.

Technical malfunctions in the city’s groundwater well system triggered the disruption, with four wells experiencing problems, according to city authorities. Anaheim relies on groundwater wells for approximately 75 percent of its water supply, with the remaining 25 percent sourced from the Colorado River. City officials resolved the issue by approximately 8 p.m. local time, with a municipal spokesperson indicating no lingering concerns remained.

A Disneyland representative acknowledged the temporary operational impact across the resort while emphasizing that staff adapted quickly to address guest needs. Visitor Tiffany Christensen told KTLA that she was denied entry to multiple park restrooms during the outage, noting that while most guests recognized circumstances beyond Disney’s control, some expressed frustration over the inconvenience.

Online discussions among Disneyland enthusiasts reflected mixed reactions to the disruption. Some guests reported the situation became chaotic, while others described it as nearly unmanageable. At least one visitor stated the family would seek refunds and departed the park entirely due to the widespread facility closures.

The incident mirrors a recent water shortage that forced California transportation officials to close rest areas along Highway 101, with those closures expected to persist through October 1.
