Jared Leto has issued a blanket denial following the release of a BBC documentary featuring accusations from multiple women who claim the Oscar-winning actor engaged in sexual misconduct. “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false,” Leto stated in a message to Fox News Digital. The documentary, titled “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret,” premiered Wednesday with accounts from 10 participants, nine of whom disclosed their experiences publicly for the first time.
According to the BBC investigation, four women allege that Leto, now 54, committed criminal sexual conduct between 2002 and 2016 when he was in his 30s and 40s. One accuser described an encounter at Leto’s California residence when she was 17, claiming the then-34-year-old actor disregarded discussions about the state’s age-of-consent laws. She alleged he made inappropriate requests during the encounter and that she later recognized the behavior as troubling as she matured.
A second woman recounted an alleged 2002 incident at a Las Vegas motel, stating that Leto initiated sexual contact in a bathroom after inviting her to the location following a chance meeting. She claimed he forced her hand during a non-consensual act and said she spent years misinterpreting the incident as her own mistake rather than recognizing it as assault.
A third accuser, a former model, described a 2013 hotel encounter in London following a Thirty Seconds to Mars concert. The woman, who was 19 but told Leto she was 17, alleged he made statements minimizing age differences and that his staff misled her about a party. She claimed Leto made crude threats when she requested assistance leaving the hotel room.
A fourth woman alleged grooming beginning at age 16, including explicit phone calls and sexual propositions. The BBC reported it reviewed a nondisclosure agreement she declined to sign. Additional accusers described receiving sexually explicit calls while underage or as teenagers, while former band employees claimed discomfort with Leto’s interactions with young girls.
These allegations follow a June 2025 Air Mail report featuring nine women with similar accusations spanning years, and prior claims from Los Angeles DJ Allie Teilz. Leto’s representatives previously called those allegations “demonstrably false.” The BBC stated Leto did not respond to requests for comment regarding the documentary.
