A tornado that touched down in Wisconsin and persisted on the ground for more than 20 minutes has been reclassified as stronger than initially assessed. The National Weather Service upgraded the storm to EF3 status after conducting a preliminary investigation, revising an earlier evaluation that had classified it as an EF2 tornado.
The extended duration of ground contact and damage assessment led meteorologists to increase the severity rating. No deaths were reported in connection with the tornado, according to available data.
