Officers with the Saratoga Springs Police Department arrived at a burning barn on June 16 to find the structure fully engulfed in flames. Body camera footage documents the officers’ swift response to the emergency call and their efforts to secure the animals trapped inside the facility.
The rescue operation unfolded as firefighting crews worked to contain the blaze and prevent its spread to adjacent properties. Police personnel coordinated with fire department responders to remove the horses from immediate danger and assess their condition following exposure to the fire.
The bodycam video provides a detailed account of the officers’ actions during the incident, highlighting the coordination required to manage both the fire emergency and the animal welfare concerns simultaneously. Authorities have not yet released details regarding the cause of the fire or the final status of the rescued animals.
